Commercial Manager – Rare Diseases

Kyowa Kirin Pharma S.A.S - Paris




In this role you are based in the central Cluster within Kyowa Kirin which means you are looking after France and the Benelux. You lead the commercial field team (Key Account Managers) including coaching, performance management and support of excellence activities in the field while receiving instructions and guidelines from the Cluster Business Franchise Lead - Nephrology.

You are in charge of delivering sales and return on investment within the RDBU (Rare Diseases Business Unit) franchise and you monitor the promotion of the proper use of products and compliance with ethical rules by the KAMs.



  • Develop an operational commercial plan for the coming year as a derivative of the Brand Plan with clear objectives, performance indicators and budget.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day operational / commercial activities for the franchise
  • Implementing a regional commercial strategy for franchise products if needed (reference and listing)
  • Regularly ensure that the KAMs have adopted the rules defined by the company, promote the proper use of the products, and respect the ethical rules, particularly during visits by pairs, monitoring of Veeva, etc.
  • Achieve or exceed sales targets by ensuring effective implementation of the operational commercial plan during the year.
  • Management of a commercial team of Key Account Managers in the field, permanent support, and monitoring of the achievement of Key Performance and compliance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Planning the efficient use of resources to achieve sales targets, e.g. budget, workforce planning, product planning.
  • Follow-up on account and visits.
  • Supporting the sizing, segmentation and targeting of field forces, incentive compensation planning, etc.
  • Support for sales training.
  • Support for fast and accurate maintenance of the customer relationship management system.
  • Consolidate and communicate field knowledge to franchise teams.



You have at least a master’s degree in business or a Scientific educational background ideally in Pharma. The ideal incumbent has at least 5 years of experience in leading, coaching and managing a pharmaceutical sales team.

Hospital and/or rare disease therapeutic areas are familiar to you as well as supporting segmentation and targeting, incentive compensation planning. You are fluent in French and English verbally and in writing.

The role requires regular travels within France (where the role is based) as abroad (Europe).
